    Limes Farm Pumpkin Competition

This week a huge pumpkin was delivered to school by Limes Farm our Hot School Meals provider. They were holding a competition to see who could carve and decorate the most 'best dressed' pumpkin for their school's competition.

It was decided that out Nursery Children would be the best to take on this challenge which they did with huge excitement and enthusiasthm.

We are looking forward to seeing how we do as Limes Farm collected the pumpkin on Friday to be judged!  We will keep you updated.

    Christ Church Cathedral Visit

Last week Maples and Rowans class went to visit Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. They learned about the role of the Church and had a tour of the Cathedral learning much about its history, architecture, traditions and the pople who use it. The children were then able to compare this amazing building with St James's Church in Great Horwood. many thanks to Miss Allen for organising the visit.

    Muddy Feet Friday

So last Friday (18th October) the day was spent with our wellies on outside putting up the tents, camping for the day and making 'smores'. This really demonstration our vision of "Play, Learn and Grow Together" as the older children helped the younger ones with tent pegs, guy ropes and getting their wellies on and off!  A picnic lunch inside the tent was welcomed as the heavens opened, the rain poured down and the tents thankfully proved to be waterproof and no one got wet.

It did hower take Mrs Webb and Miss Brigginshaw all their skill and perseverance to get the campfire lit, whilst Mrs Daggett and Miss Allen kept the campers happy with a range of campfire songs.  Many thanks must go to the PTA for their fundraising to purchase the tents (via the Co-OP).  The children finished the day off by sharing their learning with parents in the Friday Celebration Worship. A fantastic day was had by all.

Congratulations to Maples class for a fantastic Harvest Festival service at St James Church.  The singing was great, we all loved the Tractor song and we could hear every word that was read.

A huge thank you to everyone who brough in harvest gifts - it was a bumper crop and all the food was taken after the service to the Milton Keynes Food bank.

Thank you to Miss Allen, Miss James and Mrs Lumsdaine for all their hard work in getting the service ready.
