Curriculum

Our topic for Autumn 2 is ‘Victorian Children and Christmas’. Our class texts for this unit are 'The Street Child' and 'Son of the Circus'. Below are the topics we will be covering in the different subjects.

 

Maths:  Year 5 - Multiplication and Division; Fractions

             Year 6 - Fractions, Measurement and Ratio

 

SPaG: Commas; Modal verbs and Subjunctive Mood; Root words, Prefixes and Suffixes;              Sub-ordinating Conjunctions and Co-ordinating Conjunctions

 

Writing:  Inference; Character description; Letter; Recount (diary entry); Balanced                         debate / argument.

 

Science:  Light and Reflection

 

History:  Victorian Christmas

 

RE: Christianity - Incarnation - Was Jesus the Messiah? 

 

PSHE:  Economic Wellbeing

 

Music: Baroque

 

Computers:  Programming Music

 

Spanish:  Time in the City, Shopping and Festive Jumpers

 

Art:  Artist Study

 

DT:  Electrical Systems - Doodlers
