Welcome to Acorns Nursery! 

Within our Early Years Provision, here at Great Horwood School, we aim to spark curiosity, enthusiasm, and independence where children can play, learn and grow together in an open-ended environment that promotes awe and wonder, enabling them to flourish.

We have recently adapted our Early Years provision, and have begun to embed 'The Hygge Approach' to enable a calm, nurturing environment focused around natural materials and loose parts. This approach will ensure curiosity and enthusiasm is sparked to support imaginative, curious play with open-ended resources.  

Nursery children share the continuous provision with Reception children, where planning is targeted to meet each individual child's developmental needs, highlighting their next steps in line with Development Matters and The Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework. 

Catering for children aged 3-5, our Nursery is now open every day from 8.45am until 3.15pm. 

We have places available for Nursery aged children and accept funding for those eligible for both 15 and 30 hours. 

 Any additional hours are charged at £5.00 per hour.
