Online Safety
Online safety at Great Horwood is taught throughout the curriculum to help children become responsible, respectful and confident digital citizens. Children learn how to make safe choices online, understand risks and seek support when needed.
Our online safety curriculum includes:
- Keeping personal information safe
- Creating strong passwords and protecting accounts
- Recognising trustworthy and unreliable online content
- Safe use of websites, apps and games
- Positive online communication and digital etiquette
- Cyberbullying awareness and how to report concerns
- Understanding privacy, online reputation and digital footprints
- Identifying scams, phishing and online manipulation
- Critical thinking and fact-checking information
- Healthy screen habits and online wellbeing
- Managing online relationships safely
- Knowing where and how to seek help
Online safety is taught through Computing, PSHE, Relationships Education and regular safeguarding activities, helping pupils understand how to use technology safely, responsibly, respectfully and securely.
You can always speak to a trusted adult at school if you are worried about something you have seen, heard or experienced online.
