To be completed in purple homework books by Wednesday 3rd July

To research and write some interesting facts about an extinct animal. 

You can present your work in any way i.e. poster, factfile etc.

To write a simple poem about something of your choice. Try to ensure lines 1 and 3 rhyme and lines 2 and 4.

Year 2-

Write 4 numbers sentences (2 addition and 2 subtraction) to show different calculations and number facts 

eg. 

12+8=20, 8+12=20, 20-8=12, 20-12=8. 

Think about number bonds to 10, 20 or 100. 

 

Year 3- 

Write these 12-hour times in the 24-hour times on a digital clock. 

1. 8:30pm

2. 12:15pm

3. 4:15pm

4. 8:20pm

5. 2:20am

6. 7:35am

7. 9:45pm

8. 6:35pm

9. 5:05pm

10. 12:55am

11. Seven minutes to 10 in the morning. 

12. Thirty-five minutes past 5 in the afternoon. 

13. Forty-five minutes past 3 in the afternoon.

14. Twenty-one minutes past 3 in the morning. 

15. Sixteen minutes past nine in the evening.

In English we have been learning to write descriptive sentences. For your homework I would like you to think of an object, item or person and write 5/6 descriptive sentences. Think about using adjectives, verbs and adverbs in your sentences.

This week we have been learning about The Great Fire of London and Samuel Pepys. For your homework I would like you to write a diary entry imagining you were in Pudding Lane at the time of the fire. 

What did you see?

What did you hear?

What did you smell?

Try and include plenty of adjectives and adverbs.

We have been learning about the Great Fire of London. For your homework I would like you to research and write down at least 8 facts about the fire. We will use these in our English lessons next week.

Children to write a setting description based on a picture from a reading book or a picture from the internet. 

Think about adding adjectives and adverbs. 

Year 3 children think about adding fronted adverbials.
