At Great Horwood Church of England School, the interests of the children are at the heart of all that we do. As a Christian School, rooted in the teachings, values and spiritual life of the Church of England we believe that the opportunities we provide for children promote a love of learning, and a thirst for knowledge and exploration of the world around them.
Inspired by Christian faith, and embracing the core value of love, perseverance and respect, Great Horwood Church of England Combined School is committed to providing a safe, caring and challenging learning environment in which all individuals are able to realise their full potential and grow in confidence, learning to value themselves and others in preparation for their future.
Great Horwood Mission Statement:
‘Where children learn and grow together‘ knowing that Jesus said:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5
Respect and Justice
‘But let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream!’ Amos 5:24
Justice is not about a culture which encourages everyone to insist on their own rights at the expense of others. It is about a community that knows that everyone’s well-being is bound up with that of everyone else.
The Year 6 class (2019) have created a new whole school prayer:
Thank you for our wonderful school and the education it provides.
Help us to uphold our core values; showing love, demonstrating respect and persevering in all we seek to accomplish.
In Jesus’ name,
